Prelude to the Journey

Uffff, this looks really bad. While I may not understand a word, this looks extremely close to one of those social network games, with tasks you have to do that take hours/days and high paywalls for content or faster progress. Wait what am I saying this is just like L2 xD . I guess this is the future, there's more and more MMOs doing these out of game minigames that you can play from your browser or phone. And for good reason, people may not have the time to play 10h/day anymore but they do have 5 minute of time very often.

In a few days I will hopefully have more time and translate the explanations in the Lineage Mobile Haste video ("Haste" because they have only 5 minutes?).

And here is an article about the next update with a new hunting ground:
http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?ne ... e=lineage2
When I try to access the original plaync page, my computer says "under preparation", so iSoo seems to have gotten a press preview.
The original page should appear (maybe tomorrow) here:

I hope this mobile version gets transferred to Lineage Eternal. I can't say if I want to play Lineage II for so much longer, but Lineage Eternal really gets me stoked everytime I see new stuff from it.

I am not familiar with the mobile apps of other MMOs, but right at the beginning of the video (0:10) it's confirmed that through Lineage Mobile - Haste you can level up your main character, the one you normally play from an internet cafe. It's not something like Super Mario, where you start a game, then it's over and you have to start from zero again, but the exp you acquire while playing on your smartphone stays with your character.

Some "TAMs" (I didn't find that term on the internet; a variety of monster?) that are falling over each other will make you lose your breath while leveling up. And for additional thrills there are boss fights, like at 0:31 where the "surprising Ice Queen" spawns. The thrill is provided by the "Luck of Haste" (0:38) which apparently makes a random boss apppear, not one of your choice.

The user interface/character control is supposed to be the same as on a regular computer in an internet cafe (0:48; I wouldn't know about that, I never played Lineage 1). The new Lineage that you can enjoy anywhere. Now the fun will never stop, wherever you are :D

T43, the second commentator under the video expresses the same hope/sees the same parallels between Lineage Eternal and the Lineage 1 app.

In the meantime the official update page is open to the public. As it turns out, there will be two new hunting grounds:
- One of the old places in Aden Territory will be upgraded to a solo hunting ground for max. level players. It says really "place" (곳), not "hunting ground", at the beginning of the sentence. So this might be one of the empty places, like for example around the Tower of Insolence. Or maybe not and the editor simply tried to avoid the double use of 사냥터 :D
- And "the changing of Hellbound is starting", whatever that means. Either the existing hunting grounds in the western part of the island will be changed, or the accesible territory will be opened towards the east.

Apart from that "the changing of the Ability System is starting". My personal bet would still be that those will be the new Abilities Knight has dug up, possibly with other, stronger stats:

More information will be released on April 16.

That's the same interface and graphical style as lineage 1. Lineage is a sprite based game so it shouldn't have been too hard for them to make a mobile game with the existing art assets. The player character in the video is using the death knight polymorph and it appears you just walk around in an instanced version of the game world and grind monsters like normal. The incentive to playing the mobile version is that you will occasionally get a random boss spawn that can grant you extra bonuses and prizes for your real character.

Boss hunting is a big part of lineage culture, although since very few things are instanced it can also be very competitive. I think this lets people experience boss hunting outside of world events which would be really exciting for more casual players. Tam must be some sort of mobile currency or scoring system. Haste is a reference to the basic haste magic spell that increases player attack and run speed and it is universally used 24/7 in game. So Lineage haste implies a faster way to level/grind by using this new app.

Thanks a lot for the explanations!

This goes to show that you really must have some knowledge about the subject to be a good translator :D

I just found this on the Korean Lineage 1 website:
http://lineage.plaync.com/board/notice/ ... 6571&page=
http://lineage.plaync.com/board/notice/ ... 6574&page=

There are so-called "TAM Points" which you gain when playing Lineage Mobile, but they somehow don't seem to be transferred as intended to the home server of the character. So they must indeed be some kind of scoring system, it's the blue "T" in the second row on the right screenshot here:

And yes, Lineage Mobile is right now in Open Beta:

Update:
Those TAMs are a substitue currency (remotely like Ancient Adena) you can only acquire when playing Lineage Mobile and for which you can then buy entry tickets for the Lineage 1 Fantasy Island on your home server:
