But during the last Siege on February 14 a new problem has turned up - since the Stun lands with 100% probability, it reliably interrupts the engraving process on the Holy Artifact and it becomes impossible to take a Castle from defenders who have somebody with that SA among their number. This makes the attackers very unhappy:

By the way, iIIiiiIiiiIIIiII is a lvl 102 Sigel Shillien Templar but not the leader of the LongDesire clan on Sieghardt, which at present holds Dion Castle:

Wonderful korean game design
I always smile when i remember how you always portraited them as well educated. They are so educated but sadly not in the right direction. They might know poetry, literature, history, philosophy but as game designers they are awful.

There is no more game design, just a design of L2Store items that could allure to end-game players who already have everything. Since in Korea there are no new players who would feel a need to get some basic brooch jewels, ever new and ever more powerful items must be introduced to keep the cash flow up.

To say it again, those Seven Signs SAs have not been designed to make the game better but simply to extract a maximum amount of money from the player base. And as you can see in the screenshot section of the NCKorea forum, the plan worked. People did buy Seven Signs Soul Crystals and tried to upgrade them:

You can't accuse Koreans for being "awful game designers". They have create in the past some fine MMO titles, still creating, and more to come.

The downward spiral begins with the business model: f2p with micro-transactions, westernization, lack of security against cheaters, and the for ever unbeatable players mentality.

Do you think that if they want to create a perfectly balanced game, attractive to new players and end game players, they can't?

They have been trying to do it since Aion, not only NC but several korean companies have been trying to take the post-wow approach (solo til the end following quest chains to know the story, reach the end game fast and farm instanced raids-instanced battlegrouds).

It can work somehow but for a limited amount of time, after consuming the end game(which happens very fast) they leave until new content is developed. Even WoW is getting trouble with player retention, since cataclysm, the number of players that stop playing after 1-few months of a new expansion is increasing and the subs numbers are falling much faster. Players are consuming the new content faster and faster, and getting bored faster, and simply quit until a new expansion comes... one year later.

So it forces developers to make content faster, yeas, WoW has hundreds of devs for that, but a wow clone company cannot have the money for paying hundreds of devs to make more content as fast as blizzard does.

NC has Lineage 1 which has a high player retention and it obviously has a low development cost. Why don't they make another game inspired in L1 again, but instead try to make more games with the WoW model, which needs more and more new content development at a fast pace in order to bring bored players back?

Because new WoW content is getting easier and easier. Because not a single player wanted to farm items to kill Lich King easily they just nerfed to boss to suchs way that 2 Shamans can solo it. New content gets adapted to the most recent raid instance, which is already easier as the one before. In 2 years, WoW killed itself by making end game content playable and killable at the day of launch without any learning curve, farm or planning.

It's a nice touch that all MMO creaters want this, but look at Black Desert. It's very story driven until lv45, on which the PvP starts. The game is out for 18 months now and they doing the first introduction of an instance zone right now. And not just a raid instance, no a 100 stage breakthrough dungeon. And that breakthrough thing is what NCSoft is failing at. DW would've been great but they gave it a 0sec reuse timer, while it should've been something like 10min. But that would fuck over their money making on Runes to much. Also, DW making a 4pty instance was one of biggest failures.
They could've made more money making DW a 60 stage breakthrough, with stacking quests (Varka Ally style) and L2Store items buyable after finishing the quest chain to enter at e.g. stage 40.

on DW I'm missing the old ToI teleport stones that would take you straight to floor 5/10 and dropped from mobs inside the Tower, ah the fun timez running up all the way to floor 11 :)

btw we're derailing the topic again with stuff not related to Plan of Ancients update :ugeek:

Let's get back:

Will Juji announce Plan of Ancients tomorrow? Or will he do full Helios?

He said they had info on new patch in February, and tomorrow is this months last maintenance

He spoke about Helios. Real question is do we will get all the post-Helios adjustments.

But he also mentioned something about a "first part of the patch notes". In the past NCWest used to get the patch notes as they came out in Korea, not compiled into a comprehensive whole corresponding to our amalgamated version. Depending on what Juji meant with "first part" (it could also mean "first the skills, then in a second installment the hunting grounds, the Giants' Caves and the Floating Fortress"), it might still be unclear by the end of this week whether we will get the December 9 adjustments :)

He has to stretch it out until April anyway, because noway we don't get Helios patch at same time as 12th year anniversary

"First part of the patch note" or "Patch note of the first part" that's the question :D :D :D

I think it will be more like "draft of the full patch note".
