Class Diversification and Balancing Post-Helios

Agree, tanks are broken since Lindvior... They should at least make the aggro skills to do what they are supposed to do. How many times we can see a mob/boss with the aggro debuff landed still hitting everyone but the tank (happen every time on AF instance) ? Putting UDs to 5mn re-use wouldn't unbalance the game neither...

I wouldnt decrease their UDs reuse times as it may affect olympiad ballance. They for sure need some stronger party buff (like before GoD) so parties will invite them instead of unawakened SKs.
Agression and survivability is on good level atm. Tyrrs/evis need very expensive gear to become tank-like in pvp/pve.

PVE solo xp can be boosted by doing something with Vanguard I guess but easiest fastest solution would be really to make all new xp areas need a Tank again..

the improved Tank aura's are not good enough and neither are the passive party wide trigger bufs we got as it is not even close to the DPS a Titan/Evi can add in the Tanks party spot...

I'd imagine not. Koreans have, in general, been far more about party play than the west. So a good tank will be taken in party because they like/enjoy the player, even if a well geared DD could o as good, if not better, job in that party spot.
Much the same way that prophets were super popular in Korea for ages because people liked playing them. Whereas here it was all about the Doomcryers.

I think an easy fix here would be to boost the vanguard skill significantly and also add in a great deal of aggro generation to it... as in far more than any DD, no matter how OP geared, could ever generate. All PvE only of course, and still keep in a fairly high MP use penalty. Because a tank actually tanking in PvE is mostly reliant upon the 2 aggression skills and a handful of debuff/CC skills. The rest (UD, party rescue, etc) are long cooldown skills that are as needed or more PvP centric.

That'd make them able to solo decently (but not be able to just spam skills with impunity), as well as actually hold aggro reliably (baring the random aggro change logic of some bosses).

It would change nothing on PvP (where I think they still need some significant defense boosts), but would make them a far more effective, and useful, party member.

As it is currently... if you have a good party for PvE, there is not a single place that actually needs a tank. Not in instances or in field XP. Even AOE a good DN or Titan will do better, or even just another well geared nuker for another snare.

Korean Tanks were complaining that there are no more full parties (완팟이 안되서), Tanks not being wanted any more, but without naming Tyrrs as culprits:

And there were Tank complaints about the monsters in the Garden of Spirits being resistant to Chain Strike:

The improved tank auras are a fail, it takes away the whole point of having several auras.

What they should have done is, reduce the auras to just 3( party strong defensive/party average ofensive with debuff aka rage aura /reuse with speed), u dont need 5 or 6. Then depending on the tank you have you get level 2 on every aura with aditional effects depending on your class.
Either they massively boost agro on pve or add pve dmg to auras for party (however this means its even harder to agro mobs).

Agro still reflects for w/e reason. :D

On pve blame the infinite stacking of dmg that keeps being pumped from l2shop through safe enchanting or w/e other means which allows you to be full HP on every swing as DD.

This is Dankal, a lvl 101 Sigel Shillien Templar from Bremnon, one of the less populated servers. He is a very avid Youtuber, posting there under 왕허풍 (probably his real hame), and when you check his videos, you will notice that he always plays with more or less the same people.

That being said, his videos show that Tanks can have fun in Helios :)

By the way, this is the lvl 99 Ghost Hunter he accuses of RMT botting (제조):

As you can see, fun PvP can also be had below lvl 101 :D
