Find interesting mechanics in L2 mobile of Snail Games.
They add new (for mobile Snail ver.) race - Dwarfs and mining

The "Age of the Maestro"/巨匠时代 update that went on the PTS/公测 in China on September 27 does indeed include crafting and mining. The interesting thing is that while mining is limited to Dwarves, any class can craft weapons, armors etc., and what you craft is random/随机. This is remotely similar to the Requiem Fragments that allow you to craft a Supply Box (R-Grade), which then upon double-clicking gives a random Immortal/Requiem/Twilight/Apocalypse item:

Image

On the right side of the interface you choose the grade of what you want to craft. If you select for example D-Grade/lvl 20 weapons/武器 you may get a Tarbar axe or a Spiked Club or any other weapon in that line. There is a class-specific selection though, i.e. you won't get a mage weapon.
Items can be either bound/绑定 or unbound; in the latter case they can be traded. Mining consumes Stamina/精力, crafting Vitality/活力. Every day at midnight both Stamina and Vitality are replenished by the system. This means there is a limit to how much you can mine or craft per day.

The one advantage that Warsmiths have over the other classes is that they can craft Golem-like pets:

Apart from the small mineral deposits that can be mined only once and then despawn/die, there are also large ore veins that can be mined continuously and by many players at the same time. The problem is that those have guardians that must be either killed or lured away:

Image

Unlike the small deposits which spawn randomly, the ore veins, much like raid bosses, have fixed locations, spawn at fixed intervals and are shown, when they are up, on the map, here for example in Gludio Territory (the square town on the bottom left is Gludin Village):

Mineral deposits and ore veins both have levels and can only be mined by Dwarves with the corresponding Create Item level. The good news is, mining gives exp :)

On the occasion of the Zhuhai Airshow Snail Games published more information about the flying mounts. Apart from the Wyvern as we have it in the regular version of Lineage 2, there is also the Khellendros Dragon:

The Red Dragon:

And the very powerful Rocketmace Dragon:

For those of a more technical persuasion, there is the Imperial Aircraft, driven by two tail propellers and as fast as the Rocketmace Dragon:

And for Harry Potter fans there are plain Broomsticks:

and Nimbus Broomsticks:

In a later update parachuting will become available:

Thanks a lot Elmar!
That inspiring moment, when the Snail Game decided to develop their own in-game mechanic.

I also think that the Snail Games version is much more true to the original Lineage 2 than Netmarble's "Lineage 2: Revolution". Check point 12/18 here, clicking on the downward arrow in the left round thingy:
http://l2.netmarble.net/#map

There are Tank-like resp. Destroyer-like Warrior Dwarves, Archer-like resp. Dagger-like Rogue Dwarves and even Nuker-like and Healer-like Mage Dwarves, but no crafting Warsmiths with Mechanic Golems or material-collecting Bounty Hunters like at Snail Games. Even the character models look different. This is a Netmarble Rogue:

This is a Snail Games Bounty Hunter:

Of course Snail Games has adapted the game to the peculiarities of a mobile environment, like there are no craft shops, everybody has to craft for him- or herself, and in the videos I also saw no Buy or Sell Shops, i.e. they are not assuming that people would leave their smartphone running just to keep an afk shop open. Nevertheless the "atmosphere" is much closer to the PC version than at Netmarble.

By the way, here is the index of their systems explanation:

Since most Unicorns have at least rudimentary wings, this is not impossible, especially with the Chinese penchant for loveliness/可愛/kawaii :D

In the next update, however, things are getting a bit militaristic:

此外,天堂2手游还将改善之前的降落方式,游戏版的“特种兵大队-空降雄狮”即将上演!每一位亚丁勇士都有机会成为一名帅气的空降兵,誓死捍卫血盟荣耀,誓死保卫亚丁!

http://tt2.woniu.com/detail/news/2016/1107/39181.html

Apart from that, Lineage 2 Mobile is going to improve the previous landing method and introduce the "Special Forces - Airdrop Lions"! Every hero of Aden will have the opportunity to become a dashing paratrooper, sworn to defend to the death the glory of the clan, sworn to protect to the death the lands of Aden!

The interesting thing here is that in the Snail Games version of Lineage 2 Mobile there are no no-fly zones (全地图无障碍任意翱翔) and the flying mounts are apparently deliberately designed for use in castle sieges (快人一座城堡/the fast man gets the castle). The only problem I see here is that while your are landing your dragon/parachuting into the inner courtyard you have no weapon equipped and are an easy target for archers. On the other hand I have seen forum posts about the Rocketmace Dragon being rather overpowered, able to attack targets on the ground, like a Wyvern.

I guess it's all a matter of balancing :)

On the G-Star Netmarble staged a Fortress War/요새전 (not a Castle Siege) for their version of Lineage 2 Mobile where two teams of 30 players tried to occupy each other's Fortress (and defend their own). About 1/4 down here you can see that there is a battlefield in the center, with the Blue and Red Fortresses to the left and right:

I guess that's about as complicated as it can get with Sieges on a mobile telephone.

Here is an interesting comparison between Lineage Red Knights, which will go live on December 8, and Netmarble's Lineage 2: Revolution, which will go live on December 14:
http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?ne ... e=lineage2

Simply put, Red Knights is an introduction to the Lineage 1 lore, primarily a single-player game where the knight Bash ( :D ) step by step recovers his memory and the main Lineage 1 personalities (Deporojyu, Ken Raheul, Cerenis etc.) are introduced - a good preparation for Lineage Eternal. Here is their tutorial video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijfmK1-Qn_I

Lineage 2: Revolution is located on the time line 100 years before our version of Lineage 2, with the Elmoreden Empire just having collapsed and Hadin (possibly Hardin) leading the Silver Light Mercenaries/은빛용병단 against Beleth's Dark Society/어둠의 결사. In Lineage 2: Revolution, clans can have up to 50 members and castle sieges are possible. In the article the author only speaks of Gludio and Dion, but on the screenshot about halfway down the page, Giran Castle and Oren Castle are also listed. Maybe they will be opened for sieging later.

Valp from Inven.co.kr tried out the demo version of Lineage 2: Revolution on the G-Star, and while he was quite impressed by the easiness of the Quest System and the variety provided by the Rune Carving System (what would be tattoos in the original Lineage 2), he found that at the end of the day it was a smoothly polished Netmarble game, running on Unreal Engine 4 but completely lacking inspiration (감흥이 없다):
http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?ne ... e=lineage2

Soon after Lineage 2: Revolution was revealed on July 16, 2015, back then under the name of Project S, the NCsoft shares hit the highest value in that year:
http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/c ... =036570.KS
In the meantime NCsoft is going down again, having dropped from this year's high at 307,000 Won (300 US dollars) back to 240,500 Won, i.e. as much as the 238,000 Won they had reached after Netmarble's announcement. When you choose the 1 month display range on the Reuters page, you can see that the G-Star was a big (financial) disappointment. NCsoft having no booth of its own didn't help either :D
