So I am a bit mixed up with timelines. Lineage II is set before Lineage I, right ?

Lineage Eternal resp. Project TL is located on the in-game timeline after Lineage 1. It goes like this:

Lineage 2 -> Lineage 1 -> Project TL

The red-haired guy at the end of the Project TL video is William, the corrupted son of Prince Deforje, the - rather useless - good guy in Lineage 1 whom you can see in the new video:

By the way, I just checked the Lineage 1 patch notes - the Tower of Dominance is a cross-server thing, like the Dimensional Raid in Lineage 2. The vortex through which Prince Deforje is stepping at the beginning of the video is the gate to a different dimension:

It remains to be seen whether in Project TL we will see our familiar Tower of Insolence or the new Tower of Dominance, or both :)

nice but that's actually a Lineage 1 video and not related to TL so except as an idea of what we potentially can expect to see in TL it doesn't give much of anything else ?

Aram's original post contained a video from a private server who had pirated the Lineage 1 video for false advertising, trying to lure in players via the new Project. I edited the post, changing the link to the original NCsoft video, because after all it was a good find. From the visual similarities we can now confirm that the red-haird guy at the end of the Project TL video is indeed William, son of Prince Deforje.

On today's quarterly earnings conference, Chief Financial Officer Yun Jae-su announced that Project TL would "probably be revealed to the public through a Closed Beta Test in the second half of this year" (아마 하반기 중에 CBT를 통해 외부에 선보일 수 있을 것 같다). At present it is planned to release Project TL both as a PC online game and as a console MMORPG (PC온라인 및 콘솔 MMORPG로 개발 중인), but not in a mobile version:

There seem to be indeed technical problems. When Yun Jae-su made his quarterly earnings report, an analyst mentioned "emerging cross-platform issues"/크로스 플랫폼 이슈가 대두하고 있다 (possibly referring to other companies too) and asked how NCsoft intended to deal with that. In reply, Yun Jae-su said that PCs and consoles are based on a similar concept with operating system, big screen etc. (조작계, 화면 등 콘솔을 가정하고 PC에서도 돌아가는 컨셉이다) and that therefore he thinks that they will be able to develop games that can be played both on PCs and consoles (PC와 콘솔 모두 플레이 가능한 게임을 선보일 수 있을 것으로 생각한다):

What can I say - the Chief Financial Officer thinks (생각한다) that they will get a grip on the problems. But remember, the demo version of Lineage Eternal, the precursor of Project TL, was initially shown on tablet computers, with the intention to port it to PCs later on. That didn't work out either. And there is still the problem with the controls that Berger mentioned some time ago. Classes designed for PCs tend to have a lot of skills, for which you need hotkeys or keybinding for your keyboard. With a Playstation controller you might be able to steer a mobile-game character through the landscape, but using 5 different dagger stabs in a sequence, popping healing potions in between and then blinking into hide mode will be difficult. Console controllers simply don't have enough buttons:

The alternative would be to dumb down Project TL to a degree where it can easily be played on a console. But I suspect that players won't like that.

Yea all consoles and PCs are based on x86 (and will probably stay that way for a long time now) so its a lot easier to develop for crossplatform now than before. Resolutions and hardware is pretty much similar aswell.

Blizzard went the route with dumbing down the game with diablo3 (4 player max, 6 skills and quite a controller friendly UI). They still deny it but tbh most agree that this is the case. It probably is the way to go if you wanna get big, most can't really handle too many skills anyway (though personally sweetspot is around 10 skills for ARPG), just have to make sure you leave enough depth in the game for hardcore players to feel rewarded.

Though thought this was going to be a ARPG/hackNslash, as an MMORPG its gonna be hard to make it play well on both platforms. They have to handicap the game for either side probably (in term of gameplay) and it will probably be PCs that feels bit shallow.
Id pay good money to see a movie of how devs handle this task =D

It's hard to say what type of game Project TL will be in the end. Right at the beginning, in the Lineage Eternal days, it was indeed advertised as an AoE slaughter hackNslash game. At 1:10 in the latest video you can also see quite some action, hacking and slashing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP7xUgR ... e=youtu.be

On the other hand, Team Leader Choi Mun-yeong said on the November 7 press conference that the old development direction did not sufficiently reflect NCsoft's corporate identity (개발 방향성이 엔씨소프트의 특징을 반영하기에 충분하지 않았다고 전했다) and that they therefore turned it into a traditional MMORPG:
http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?ne ... &hotnews=1

It's open to discussion what NCsoft's corporate identity (엔씨소프트의 특징) is supposed to be, but I myself think in that case first of Lineage 1 and Lineage 2, not of some Super Mario style jump-and-run game. I can't help the impression that the developers (or their superior beings) want too much and will wind up with nothing in the end. If they simply made Project TL a traditional PC-based MMO, they might be able to catch the frustrated Lineage 1 players who have given up playing Lineage M over NCsoft's Blue Diamond greed but did not return to the original version of the game. Check the drop in revenue from both mobile games and Lineage [1] and the enraged comments at the bottom of this page:
