Those two are identical to the Gon race from Blade and Soul. Even their default body pose is identical. The class Destroyer also holds a giant two hand axe. Here is a picture from the back (waist break, left leg in front):

Also notice that in combat the female Gon Destroyer holds the two hand axe exactly the same as the L1 warrior, with the axe falling back and touching the ground.

ps. You can google "gon female" or "gon destroyer" and see multiple examples.

I am not really an expert on Lineage 1, and their Powerbook Wikipedia leaves a lot to be desired. What I do know is that the Dragon Knight class is a later addition that was not there at the beginning of the game. When I look at the character models of the Warrior class with their tattoos, I feel indeed more reminded of Blade & Soul than of the plain simple Lineage 1 Knight or Dark Elf - the graphics are noticeably more elaborate. Maybe langlang can help us out: was the Warrior class there at the beginning of Lineage 1?

Of course we must always keep in mind that Project TL is not Lineage 1, but with the red-headed Prince at the end, and also the archetypal Dark Elf in the throne room scene, the new developers really seem to try to return to NCsoft's roots (and glory days). While it is possible that in Project TL there will be a new combined Knight-Warrior class, my personal bet, based on the heavy armor, would be that the bad guy with the big axe is a Knight :)

Warrior was the latest class to be added to L1.

L1 started only with Knight, Prince, Mage and Elf. They added Dark Elf via expansion, in another one they added Illusionist and Dragon Knight at he same time, and Warrior was added like 2-3 years ago.

Ah, now I see clearer! While always keeping in mind that the Eternal archetypes with their pre-fabricated biographies have been abandoned and Albert, William etc. are not playable characters but NPCs in Project TL, it could well be that the video serves to showcase the announced five classes. In the throne room scene at the end we have five persons on the "good" side and five on the "bad" side.

Of course, that's just a computer-generated movie and might simply be intended to arouse interest among former L1 players (a major part of the Korean population). Maybe it will all be changed again by the time a Closed Beta Test is being conducted. But there is a distinct possibility that An Jong-ok and his colleagues are really following the Lineage 1 precedent with the fist five classes being
- Knight (Albert and the bad "Titan")
- Prince (William)
- Mage (the big-breasted lady)
- Elf (the two on horseback)
- Dark Elf (the guy with the red scarf on the left)

Illusionist, Dragon Knight and Warrior may or may not follow in a later update :)

Correct. The game first started with knight and prince. Then later on added elf and wizard. Years later, they added the dark elves and it was a big deal. After lineage 2 was released, they added illusionist and dragon knights to reinvigorate the game but I can't really say they ever were as popular as the old classes, simply because people didn't want to reroll to play a gimmicky class, much like what happened with the new races in lineage 2.

It's also important to note that In lineage 1, classes were also races. You couldn't be an elf knight or a dark elf prince, which is why their designs never changed and became so iconic. No matter what gear you had, all characters looked exactly the same. However, you could always tell what level a player was, because end game revolved around the transformation system using scrolls of shape change. Low level characters had the options to take the shape of monsters, and high level characters could transform into bosses like deathknight. Later on, ncsoft added specialized transformations for higher level players to make them stand out even more. Eventually ncsoft realized they need to make specialized transformation for mages and archers. This is why when you look at a video for lineage 1, especially the really older ones, everyone looks the same but nobody looks like the actual player classes.

In today's Q&A with investors, Chief Financial Officer Yun Jae-su announced that Project TL, still earmarked for "PC and other platforms" (PC 및 기타 플랫폼) would see testing "at the end of this year" (올해 말에):

This is NCsoft we are talking about. An itemstore like at NCWest is the best you can hope for. If it goes like in the Asian territories, there will be a subscription fee plus an itemstore, with the items only obtainable via heavy gambling on Treasure Chests :D

Please note, the guy on top of the tower is not Baium but the Spirit of Death, saying "Oh insolent ones, it's time to gather your souls". So-to-speak the classic Reaper Man :D

The tower is here is not called 오만의 탑/Tower of Insolence but 지배의 탑/Tower of Dominance. Since this is an upcoming update for Lineage 1 this could be a kind of transitional stage between our old Tower of Insolence and Project TL.
